India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company, has launched the King Kargo HD CNG three-wheeler, which has been designed and engineered for seamless last-mile cargo operations, keeping in mind India’s widely known and most notorious city streets and semi-rugged pathways. TVS has mainly targeted small fleet operators, business owners, and logistics entrepreneurs who are actively transitioning from ICE vehicles to more sustainable alternatives amid the ongoing sustainable India drive by the government, as non-ICE vehicles also offer superior load-carrying prowess, exceptional gradability on inclines, and substantially reduced running costs over time.
The upcoming and more stringent norms set to disrupt the ICE category in the Indian automotive market can also be cited as the secondary reason for the shift. The all-new CNG-powered King Kargo has a 301.1 cc liquid-cooled engine pushing out 9.1 kW of power with a peak torque of 22.4 Nm, pushing out enough power to carry the heaviest payloads without compromising on fuel efficiency. It is capable of touching a practical top speed of 63 km/h. Under its belly, we get to see a 235 mm ground clearance and a turning radius of 3,420 mm, which makes it easy for the vehicle to navigate through the steep speed breakers, uneven terrains, potholes, and U-turns.
Its leaf spring suspension soaks up all the road imperfections while retaining the cargo stability and vehicle control during its daily operations.
